Director of Lysosomal Biology

Description

What we need is an enterprising expert in lysosomal biology who will engage and drive the advancement of new lysosomal therapies. The life sciences research leader will focus on the development and implementation of early- and late-stage research programs, while helping to identify new targets and providing strategic and day-to-day guidance to scientific teams.

Responsibility

• Lead the scientific research team to understand the mechanism of lysosome biogenesis and biological function, and support drug development.
• Successful candidates need to independently design, execute and manage in-house research projects.
• Collaborate with other functions within the wider organization and manage external collaborations.
• Candidates present research findings on technology platforms to a variety of audiences, including executives.

Requirements

• PhD in biology, cytology or related disciplines.
• 3+ years experience in drug development industry, lysosomal engineering.
• Evidence of scientific leadership published in top journals.
• Prior experience in biotherapeutic discovery and preclinical development.
• Experience, expertise and training in lysosomal biology is highly desirable.
• Develop good organizational skills, creative problem solving and collaboration skills.
• Must be self-motivated and proactive, able to multitask and pay attention to detail.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as effective listening and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
